Aprende MásThe Nursing Assistant Program is an opportunity to learn skills and prepare for a career in the health care field. The Nurse Assistant course consists of 125 hrs. The classroom training is for 95 hours and internship is for 30 hours. The internship is held at a Nursing Home under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The nursing assistant is responsible for assisting a client with personal care; fluid and nutrition; mobility; and elimination needs. If you have a desire to help people, are comfortable working closely with clients while providing personal care, are willing to accept delegated tasks, and to work as a member of a team, then a career as a nursing assistant may be for you.
course details Enroll nowPatient care technicians tend to the ill and injured individuals under the supervision of doctors, nurses, and medical professionals. PCT program prepares a graduate to work as an entry-level position in a clinic, hospital, rehabilitation center, nursing home or long-term care facility. Graduates will be able to measure and record vital signs, perform CPR and First Aid, assist in medical examinations, perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), phlebotomy and other basic laboratory procedures. The course includes both theory and clinical training and therefore is designed to meet New York State Education Department curriculum requirements.
course details Enroll nowEKG Technician training will prepare you to work in any medical setting, including hospitals, laboratories, medical offices, and diagnostic imaging centers. EKG Technician is an important member of the patient care team working primarily with patients who experience cardio-related symptoms. This course consists of both theory and clinical skills, covering important background on the anatomy and physiology of the heart. Graduates will be able to perform electrocardiograph techniques, including the operation of EKG equipment, techniques of tracing, basic interpretations, specialized procedures related to EKG and proper mounting.
course details Enroll nowThe Phlebotomy Technician course concentrates on the proper techniques of blood drawing. It also demonstrates the various methods utilized for blood drawing that include Multi-sample needle, butterfly syringe, needle syringe, and evacuated tube system. Students will learn the terminology used to order laboratory tests and identify various laboratory equipment used for sample analysis. The course will teach the proper methods of applying gloves, gowns and masks for laboratory procedure while allowing students the opportunity to practice their phlebotomy skills on mannequin arms and more importantly; in a live student/patient environment under the supervision of their licensed/certified instructors.
course details Enroll nowHome health aides are a valuable part of any health care team. HHA program consists of 83 hours. The classroom training is 75 hours and internship is 8 hours at Assisted care living. If you have a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of the sick, disabled, and elderly, this could be a great position for you to consider. Home health aides (HHAs) assist patients with completing important personal tasks such as dressing, bathing and a variety of hygiene needs. On completion the HHA graduates will receive a completion certificate and will be registered with the Department of Health and meet several recruiters on school campus for the job placement.
course details Enroll nowPersonal care aides, also known as caregivers, personal attendants, homemakers, or companions, assist with the daily tasks of elderly, mentally disabled, chronically ill, or physically challenged clients, as well as hospice patients and those in various stages of rehabilitation or recovery. PCA consist of 40 Hours in-class training. PCA might work at clients’ homes, residential care or hospice facilities, adult day care centers, or senior centers. They might visit several clients a day or be assigned to one specific client. On completion the PCA graduates will receive a completion certificate and will be registered with the Department of Health and meet several recruiters on school campus for the job placement.

Students will complete 600 hours of Practical/Administrative knowledge in an online/classroom setting and 300 hours of clinical skills in an affiliated medical office or urgent care.

Students will complete 290 hours of theory and practical skills knowledge in a classroom setting and 300 hours of clinical skills in an affiliated medical office or urgent care.
